Archery is the national sport of the tiny kingdom of Bhutan so it’s no surprise that they sent an archer to the London Olympics last week – although the local sport has a few differences.  I guess the surprise was that their Olympic team of 2 people included a shooter as well!

A question I am commonly asked is “what is your favourite country to visit”?  Having been to nearly 50 countries makes this a difficult question to answer but there is one country that will always be in my top three. Bhutan


Women near Paro in Bhutan are helping build a new home for one of their neighbours.  There is nothing like the reality of life in a small Himalayan country to teach the lesson of compassion, community spirit…and carpentry.  


One of the things I love most about travelling is the new friends I meet along the way.  Some are fleeting, others become lifelong but all have enriched my life in some way.
